About Volunteer NECT

Volunteer NECT was brought to life by members of the Putnam Rotary Club in collaboration with the Killingly/Brooklyn Rotary Club and Plainfield Rotary Club. Emphasizing Rotary’s motto of “Service Above Self”, they believe that everyone in our community should have the chance to make a difference – wanting to help connect those looking to volunteer to the projects and organizations that inspire them to serve.

Organizations provide details on a variety of opportunities and volunteers can search by the causes closest to them, making it easy for good people and good causes to connect.

Building unity through community service.

Rotary International

Rotary is a global network of 1.2 million neighbors, friends, leaders, and problem-solvers who see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change – across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves.

The Putnam Rotary Club was founded in 1923 by a group of dedicated community leaders who wished to promote the humanitarian Rotary motto of "Service Above Self" in Windham County. The Club is organized under the auspices of Rotary International as club number 6507 and is a member of Rotary District 7890, which encompasses Western Massachusetts and the Northern half of Connecticut.

More people. More impact.

Volunteering is the ultimate exercise in democracy. You vote in elections once a year, but when you volunteer, you vote every day about the kind of community you want to live in.

Fight for the things that you care about, but do it in a way that will lead others to join you.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg

The best way to not feel hopeless is to get up and do something. Don’t wait for good things to happen to you. If you go out and make some good things happen, you will fill the world with hope, you will fill yourself with hope.
